Boxing fitness is a growing trend but some might ask why? Well if you look at your average professional boxer and you will see a man or woman in fantastic shape. The reason they are in great shape is a combination of different type of training. Boxers will combine aerobic type of training like jumping rope and running long distance, anerobic like weight training and sprint training.
In my Fitbox class I combine non weight exercises, bag work, shadow boxing, footwork drills and sometimes we work with weights. Another big part of the class is doing what is called Interval training. Interval training combines fast bursts of exercise, followed by slow active rest. A boxer in a fight will throw a combination of 3 or 4 punches and then grab their opponent and rest.
